After many years of listening to music on my father's hifi set (Martin Logan ESL), I wanted to buy one that I could enjoy for many years. So I could start scouring websites, YouTube and forums.
I started with great enthusiasm, but after a few months of "reading" and thinking that you could make a choice this way, it turned out to be in vain.
There is so much stuff on the market and so many reviews that you can easily make a full-time job of it to figure it all out.
I found the threshold to just walk into a hifi shop much too high. I sent an email left and right to shops that seemed interesting to me, but the responses were mainly very "sales" oriented. That did not lower the threshold.

By chance I ended up on the website of Link Audio Components and that of TheLinkShop via a hifi brand. A bit of an atypical website, not at all focused on the quick sale but rather on the interested party who also wants to get information.

At least that's how I understood the information on the site.

After reading this I was very curious to find out more about Link speakers, especially with all those great reviews, almost too good to be true I thought.

I sent an email to Wim to make an appointment for a listening session.
After a very pleasant telephone conversation a date was set.
I didn't know what to expect, because it was my first listening session.

What immediately struck me was the homely atmosphere and the unbrushed personality of Wim, which certainly appealed to me.

Wim let me listen to the K100 speakers amplified by the NAD C 658 preamp/streamer and the NAD C 298 power amplifier. He let me hear different types of music. I was very surprised by the power, realism and clarity that emanated from this speaker and electronics combination!
Wim also has a huge knowledge of audio and that gives confidence. When I left him I had a good feeling and I was sure that my hifi set would be ordered from him.

I sent a few more emails with questions that came to mind and Wim always answered quickly and
extensively, which I really appreciated. He also realized that he had won a soul.

I was convinced of the NAD amplification, but I was very curious about the B800 speakers.

That is why a second listening session followed together with my girlfriend to experience the difference between the K100 and
the B800. I have to say that the B800 sounds even more credible because of the stereo subwoofer

and, as Wim says, comes very close to the live experience.

Especially with music that gives deep low tones, you literally feel the music in your body. However, the low never becomes excessive and bumpy, the music remains pure and pleasant as it should be. What is certainly also a plus point of Wim's speakers is that they are visually very beautiful and look great in any interior, that is certainly an added value to convince the lady.

It remains a lot of money, but we decided to go for the B800 in combination with the NAD amplifiers and Wim's speaker cables and interconnects. Wim came to install everything in mid-July 2021 and we have listened to it with great pleasure almost every day since then.
In our interior, which is one large open space, music now sounds very spacious and lifelike.

My sister and brother-in-law could not believe their ears, to put it in their words:

"the musicians are standing right in the room...

how is that possible?"

So I can recommend anyone looking for speakers and/or hifi equipment to contact Wim
